About

A desire to create appropriate, innovative and meaningful design is at the core of my design goals. I studied graphic design at Concordia University where I earned my BFA in 1999 at which I am now an adjunct faculty member. I specialize in identities, posters, hand-made design and work for the music industry. I have worked as a designer at several full service agencies, and as an in-house designer. I'm currently an Art Director at Nebraska Book Company. While living in Omaha I was an executive board member of AIGA Nebraska. My work has been featured by the AIGA, STEP Inside Design magazine, Print Magazine, HOW Magazine, Communication Arts Magazine and several recently published design books, Fingerprint, Best of Business Card Design 8 and Mastering Materials, Bindings, and Finishes. I founded club(red), a graphic design book club through the Nebraska chapter of the AIGA.

I have over eight years of experience as a designer. My software proficiencies include Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, PageMaker, Freehand and a basic understanding of HTML. My hands on illustration skills include anything from acrylic and watercolor to cut paper.

My passions range from reading anything remotely design related to letterpressing, made possible by the acquisition of a Chandler & Price clamshell press circa 1918 and various trays of wood and metal type. I find that a nice balance of technology and trends (iPod, G4, Netflix, Flickr) mixed in with some good old classics (books, letterpress, Hawkeye box camera) give a nice balanced creative output. When I find the time, I dive into painting and collage with the aid of power tools.
