Letterpress poster created while working in Nashville for a week with the historic, 125 year old letterpress shop, Hatch Show Print. This poster was created with vintage wood type, metal type, wood dingbats and linoleum cuts that are all part of the Hatch collection.
Official selection for the AIGA's World Day of Design poster contest. AIGA members were invited to submit poster designs based on the theme of diversity. The judges for the contest were John Bielenberg, Paula Scher, Erez Steinberg, Gia Giasullo and Petrula Vrontikis.
The large linoleum cut directly references Mark Erelli's song (Imaginary Wars) about a pine tree forest that was replaced by a housing development when he was a child.
This Listening Room poster was created using hand-set type and ornament, hand-cut linoleum and a vintage copper plate. The posters were so well-liked that local shop owners were excited to hang them in their windows.
